Brown Bag Lunch at Sherwood Gardens

Join Cohousing of Greater Baltimore on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Noon for a casual social gathering at a beautiful Baltimore landmark, Sherwood Gardens.
Sherwood Gardens is a privately owned community park, originally called Stratford Green. The Park is in the center of a residential community called Guilford located in Northern Baltimore City. Guilford, dates back to 1913 and is a Registered Historic District significant for its planning, its architecture, and Sherwood Gardens. Sherwood Gardens, more than six acres in size, is located in the area between East Highfield Road, Underwood Road, Stratford Road and Greenway. Using Waze you can find your way there using the address 4310 Underwood Rd.
Bring your lunch and water, a lawn chair or blanket, a sun hat and sunscreen. We have several folks interested in joining CGB so this will be a great opportunity to meet each other in a relaxed setting. Stay as long as you like. Note that there are no rest rooms.
If you haven't visited Sherwood Gardens before you can learn about it here https://www.sherwoodgardens.org/ They provide information about parking in the neighborhood and places to pick up food. I'll probably be picking up something at Atwaters at Belvedere Square where there are many eateries from which to choose and which is only 1.9 miles from Sherwood Gardens.
We ask that you register by noon on Tuesday, April 23 so that we will know whom to expect, allowing us to find a location suitable for the anticipated size of the group. While the possibility of rain is low, we have designated Thursday, April 25 as our raindate.

We will carpool for the drive there, meeting at the Southwest Park & Ride Lot, Catonsville, MD 21228 (Off Rt I-195 at Rt 166) at Noon, leaving for Shepherd Village by 12:10 PM (If several register from areas around D.C., for example, we may suggest a more convenient meetup location for them). We anticipate stopping for a late lunch/early dinner on the way back. You can register by May 2. We'll send a confirming email with logistics information by May 4.

Senior Cohousing
Want to learn more about what it's like to build, join, and participate in cohousing as you age?
The Senior Cohousing Advocates Committee of the National Cohousing Association (Coho/US) leads an informal conversation for those interested in senior cohousing and/or senior living in intergenerational cohousing.
This (free) event takes place every month on the 20th at 10am Mountain Time (9 Pacific, 11 Central, 12 Eastern).
